Benjamin L. Bland III, MPH
I am a passionate public health professional with over a decade of experience advancing community health and wellness initiatives in Greater Springfield. My work is grounded in the belief that everyone deserves access to the resources they need to meet their basic needs, live with dignity, and achieve good health. Over the years, I’ve built a career at the intersection of public health, community engagement, and systems change; always centering the voices of residents and those most impacted.
As Program Manager for Springfield’s Mass in Motion initiative I’ve led efforts to improve food access in marginalized neighborhoods, strengthen the built environment, and expand neighborhood infrastructure. I’ve worked alongside residents and local partners to move community driven health projects forward by building cross-sector partnerships, planning public events, and speaking on topics including food justice, social determinants of health, policy and systems change, root causes, and LGBTQIA+ health.
I hold a Master of Public Health from the University of Massachusetts Amherst with a concentration in Health Policy and Management, and a Bachelor of Arts in English from Worcester State University. I am also certified as an HIV Prevention Provider through HealthHIV.
Thank you for visiting my site and taking the time to connect with me, my work, and the values and experiences that guide me.
